Treatments include:

Dermal filler treatments

In recent years the range of fillers has become extremely complex. They range from thin products to thick that can perform any service from hydrating the skin to filling empty cheeks. The popular lip enhancement has many options and styles of treatments. Dermal fillers fill the skin but can also hydrate the area. It is essential that the patient feel confident in their injector as safety must be a key priority for all patients and clinicians. These treatments can happen in as little as 15 minutes and the range of duration is from 3 months to 2 years for differing products. Many different ingredients are used in fillers with some attracting the body’s natural water into the skin more than others. It is important to have good aftercare and back up and we provide this with an urgent afterhours service. The patient can often return to work the next day but must be aware that some downtime may be needed in some cases.

Wrinkle relaxers

These can be used to prevent wrinkles or treat many lines on the face and neck. Wrinkle relaxers as the name suggest, relax the muscle and are excellent for dynamic movement wrinkles but can also prevent the static lines. Many younger patients have wisely chosen to prevent these lines rather than wait until it is too late. The onset is a little slower than dermal fillers being 5 -10 days. The duration of effect can be between 3-6 months depending on the brand. We offer all brands of wrinkle relaxers and will be upfront on the differing unit strength. Patients need to be aware that some brands of wrinkle relaxer are only 1/3 the strength for the same unit.

 

Fat dissolving injections

We have extensive experience in fat dissolving or lipo dissolve injections. Our medical director was one of the first in Australia to use these and we not only treat the neck area but stubborn small to medium rolls on the body. There is a new Allergan product that has been very successful for the chin and we have extensive experience in using this. There are two different ingredients used in these injections and they help to break down the fat cells which are reabsorbed and expelled from the body. The onset of the effect can be as little as one month but may take longer and more than one injection series may be needed in some patients. The treatment time is as little as 30 minutes and some patients can return to work the next day. We will completely and clearly instruct you on the after care and the possible side effects.

 

Platelet rich plasma (PRP or vampire facial)

This has become a very popular treatment over the last few years as it is very natural. Your own blood is drawn and spun down to withdraw skin rejuvenating growth factors. These growth factors can stimulate the skin and tissue and cause significant rejuvenation. Injecting into the scalp can also stimulate hair growth. Although a natural product, the treatment must be carefully given to avoid any infection concerns. The effects can occur after one injection although the series can be up to 3 treatments over 3 months. The effects can last up to a year.

 

Skin rejuvenating peels

Chemical peels have been used for many years to rejuvenate the skin, decrease pigmentation, improve mild scarring and decrease sun damage. They range in strength from mild to strong and the effects can be subtle to amazing. It is wise to use the mild peels as a method of preventing skin aging. Skin needling

Skin needling has grown in popularity over the past few years and is an extremely exciting and interesting treatment. There are three types of skin rollers or needle depths. Ranging from shallow to deeper and the effects are consistent with the depth of the needle. This is a treatment that must be carefully performed, and your clinician must be extremely well trained with good medical backup. The very small puncture marks stimulate the skin to heal and this increases the collagen and elastin in the skin improving the quality. For the younger patient who is after prevention the shallow needle depth is excellent. For the more mature patient the deeper treatment is required, and the results can be amazing. It is also a good adjunct in the treatment of scars and acne scars. The treatment can take between 15-30 minutes and the down time ranges depending on the depth of the needle from 1-7 days.
